(Cricket News) In another display of the growing camaraderie among Indian and Pakistani players, Shaheen Shah Afridi extended his congratulations to Jasprit Bumrah on the birth of his child and presented him with some gifts.

The heartwarming moment was captured in a video shared by the Pakistan Cricket Board on Twitter. In the video, Afridi can be seen offering his congratulations to Bumrah for the joyous news, to which the Indian fast bowler responded with gratitude. This exchange took place following the cancellation of the India vs. Pakistan Super 4 match due to rain.

Jasprit Bumrah, aged 29, had left the Indian team’s camp in Sri Lanka the previous Sunday to be by his wife Sanjana Ganesan’s side in Mumbai for the birth of their child. Consequently, he missed India’s game against Nepal on the following Monday. Bumrah later shared the news of their growing family on social media, expressing his delight at the arrival of their son, Angad Jasprit Bumrah.

Meanwhile, during the Super 4 match on Sunday, Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill showcased an impressive display of aggressive batting, each scoring sublime half-centuries. Their partnership propelled India to a total of 147 for 2 against Pakistan before rain interrupted play, leading to the match being carried over to a reserve day.

The proceedings on the reserve day will commence at 3 PM IST, as the rain halted play at 4.52 PM on the previous day. At the point of interruption, India had completed 24.1 overs, and the match will resume from the same point (24.2 overs) on the following day. The two batsmen at the crease were Virat Kohli (8) and KL Rahul (17).

This also means that Indian players will be required to take the field on two consecutive days—Monday for the reserve day against Pakistan and on Tuesday for their second Super 4 match against Sri Lanka.
