(Cricket News) According to the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) on Tuesday, the men’s cricket squad from Afghanistan will embark on a three-match Twenty20 International series in India in January.
According to a statement from the Afghanistan Cricket Board, “the Afghanistan National Cricket Team will tour India for a three-match Twenty20 International series in early January 2024. The three T20I matches are scheduled for the 11th, 14th, and 17th of January.”
The first encounter in the three-match Twenty20 International series is slated for January 11 in Mohali, with the second and third matches to be played in Indore and Bengaluru on January 14 and 17, respectively.
Although Afghanistan and India have played each other in a number of Asian Cricket Council (ACC) and International Cricket Council (ICC) events, this series will be the first time these countries play a multi-match white-ball series.
Afghanistan and India have played five T20I matches, with India emerging victorious in each. Afghanistan was in India for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, where they finished sixth in the points table after thrilling wins over England, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh.
