(Football news) Borussia Dortmund dropped points again as this time they conceded a stoppage-time equaliser from Silas Katompa Mvumpa to draw 3-3 against a 10-man VfB Stuttgart. Dortmund missed a detrimental chance as they missed the chance to go joint top of the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich. They are now 2 points behind the Bavarians giants with only six matches to play for.
The visitors scored first when Ivory Coast striker Sebastien Haller put the ball in the back of the net when Donyell Malen cut the ball back for him in the 26th minute to put Dortmund in the lead. They were quick to add another in the 33rd minute as this time Malen scored for his fourth consecutive league goal. Things became even tougher for Stuttgart as they were left with 10 after the dismissal of the former Arsenal player Konstantinos Mavropanos following a second booking just before halftime.
Stuttgart showed heart and grit as they pulled a goal back through Tanguy Coulibaly’s deflected shot in the 78th minute. Dortmund’s defence was in complete disarray as Josha Vagnoman levelled the score line with a brilliant shot six minutes later. Dortmund, after the shock of conceding two goals, quickly organised themselves as Gio Reyna scored in stoppage time, thinking that they had won the match. But the 10 men of Stuttgart had some other ideas as Silas drilled in his second to earn the hosts a valuable point.
