A fitting end to Warner’s career as Australia clean sweeps Pakistan in Sydney

(Cricket news) Australia comfortably chased down 130 runs in the Fourth innings of the Sydney test as David warner scored a superb 57 to sing off from test internationals.

Usman Khawaja was dismissed by Sajid Khan in the opening over of the 4th innings to impose an early setback on Australia. But Pakistan’s glimmer of hope was quickly shattered by a clinical century partnership between Warner and Marnus Labuschagne for the second wicket.

Warner led the chase for Australia scoring some quick runs in boundaries to quickly reverse the pressure on Pakistan who were extremely pleased after getting an early breakthrough. Labuschagne played an integral part of holding one end alongside Warner to take Australia to a clean sweep.

The duo brought up their seventh 100-plus partnership and made sure that their were no hiccups in the chase. Before the batting heroics, Australia had their bowling to thank for being lethal once again to reduce Pakistan to a low score.

While Josh Hazlewood’s magical spell reduced Pakistan to 67/7 overnight on Day 3, but Pakistan began the fourth day with some resistance from Rizwan and Aamer Jamal before the former was out caught at leg slip off Nathan Lyon with Warner taking a sharp catch. As the resistance broke, the others crumbled as Pat Cummins dismissed Jamal.

Warner and Labuschagne carried Australia nearly over the line before the former was trapped LBW with 11 to win in his Final test innings. Nevertheless, it allowed for a perfect farewell as Australia finished the series with a comprehensive margin of 3-0.
