“Australia 450-2, India All Out for 65” - Mitchell Matsh’s Prediction Goes Viral Before the Final

(Cricket News) After 45 intense league games and two exciting semifinals, there are only two teams left in the World Cup 2023: Australia and India. No two teams have played each other more often in World Cup history than these two, as Australia and India are about to add episode 14 to their incredible rivalry. The big final will take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad in one night.

In the run-up to the final, it is interesting to review some of the pre-tournament predictions made about the summit match. Mitchell Marsh, an all-rounder for Australia, stands out because, while he was correct in his prophecy from roughly six months ago, the opener had also predicted the scores.

Speaking on a podcast hosted by the Delhi Capitals of the Indian Premier League in 2023, Marsh predicted that Australia would face India in the championship match. He was willing to share the specifics of his prediction, saying that Australia will win by 385 runs after limiting India to just 65 runs in the final.

Though he has not found out about the second part of his prediction—”Australia will stay undefeated, defeating India in the final, Australia 450-2 in the final, India all out 65″—Marsh did get the first part of it right. Australia, the most successful team in World Cup history with five titles (1987, 1999, 2003, 2007 and 2015), made it to their eighth final after defeating South Africa, while India reached their fourth after 1983, 2003, and 2011.

Marsh’s prediction that Australia and India would play each other in the final came true, but it is the home team, not the Aussies, who have won all ten of their games thus far in the tournament: nine in the round-robin stage and one semifinal.

Australia, on the other hand, enters the final on the strength of an eight-game winning streak; they lost their opening two games to South Africa and India, but they recovered to win all of their next games, including the semifinal against the Proteas.
