Dominik Szoboszlai on the verge of joining Liverpool

After deciding to activate Dominik Szoboszlai's €70 million release clause, Liverpool is prepared to make their second signing of the summer

(Football news) When Dominik Szoboszlai joined Leipzig in 2021, his release clause was set at €70 million, and Liverpool is now planning to activate it. As a result, the German team has limited options for preventing the outstanding attacker from leaving.

At the beginning of the week, personal terms were negotiated with the midfielder’s representation and were never thought to be problematic. The talent and demeanour of Dominik Szoboszlai, as well as the Hungarian’s comfort in playing across the midfield, are all clearly appreciated. His exceptional chance-creation numbers and ball-carrying skills also fit Liverpool’s desired profile.

Alexis Mac Allister, who joined Liverpool from Brighton earlier this month, will now be the club’s second summer acquisition after Dominik Szoboszlai. In his two Bundesliga seasons, Dominik Szoboszlai scored about 20 goals and supplied 22 assists.

Dominik Szoboszlai most likely won’t be The Reds’ final acquisition. After missing out on Jude Bellingham, Klopp’s team still needs one or two more midfielders, but signing Szoboszlai would be a huge statement of determination for the team following a dismal year.

It is evident that Szoboszlai is valued for his talent, personality, and ability to play anywhere in the middle of the field. His outstanding ball-carrying abilities and chance-creation stats also meet Liverpool’s ideal candidate.

The new midfield additions create a dynamic, young partnership that is well-rounded. Mac Allister has demonstrated his versatility in various midfield positions, whereas Szoboszlai can play as an outright winger or in aggressive midfield positions.
