(Football news) Back in 2019, Real Madrid made a surprising move for Manchester City youngster Brahim Diaz. Los Blancos paid a €17 million fee for the then 20 year old. That season and the season after that  Brahim didn’t play much football but did pull off some impressive performances in the limited opportunities. That was enough to earn him a season long loan move to AC Milan. The loan was extended for another 2 seasons as Brahim became an integral part of Stefano Pioli’s side. While with the Rossoneri the Spaniard was instrumental in the side that won the Serie A in 2021/22.

Now reports in Spain claim that Milan don’t have a buy option for Brahim Diaz and it will be entirely Real Madrid’s decision. Real Madrid players Eden Hazard and Marco Asensio are both out of contract at the end of the season. Brahim is a similar player to them and could be the perfect replacement. Milan are interested in signing him permanently but with his contract running till 2025 they will have to pay a considerable transfer fee.

Real Madrid will definitely not mind bringing back Brahim Diaz at the club as he has been impressive at Milan. He is a proper no. 10 who can play on either wing who offers something different. He is only 23 years of age which is perfect for him to blossom at the Bernabéu.

Brahim Diaz’s intentions will also play a big part. He has been playing regularly with AC Milan and the chances are that he will not be playing that regularly at Real Madrid at the beginning at least. If he wants to stay at Milan then Real Madrid will not be able to hold on to him. In case that happens then it will be very identical to the Martin Odegaard situation. Real Madrid and Milan are reportedly in constant negotiations and a conclusion could be reached in January itself. Brahim Diaz has always said that he is happy in Milan but if Real Madrid assure him gametime then it will be difficult for him to say no.
