(Boxing news) Olympic 2021 Live Update: In a disappointing boxing clash, India’s Amit Panghal lost 4-1 to Colombia’s Yuberjen Martinez Rivas at the Kokugikan Arena. Panghal off strongly, keeping his distance from Martinez and attacking the Colombian with his left hook and combinations. Panghal managed to defend and attack well and scoring punches helped him with the first round with a 4:1 decision.

However, Martinez upped his game for the second set, forcing Panghal to adopt a more defensive strategy under immense pressure. In a closer contest compared to Round 1, Martinez emerged the winner with a 4:1 decision. From then on, Martinez started Round 3 on a similar note as the second round, and did not allow Panghal to use his left hand. Martinez hit Pinghal with right-left combination punches with very little retaliation from Panghal’s side, who looked like he could barely move his arms, ultimately resulting in the Indian boxing losing the match.
