(Cricket news) Will Jack’s blistering century helps Pretoria Capitals to their first win of the SA20 2024. Will Jacks scored a sensational 101 off just 42 balls which included a total of 9 sixes and 8 fours at a strike rate of 240.48.
After opting to bat, Will Jacks displayed his dominance, attacking the bowlers from the very start and compiling a 75 run opening partnership with Phil Salt inside the powerplay. He put up a one man show taking the DSG bowlers on a leather hunt. Despite losing some wickets on the other end, Jacks continued hi attacking approach to keep up scoring rate.
He scored 101 out of the 151 that the Capitals scored before he was dismissed in the 13th over by Pretorious. Colin Ingram’s little cameo of 43 from just 23 balls further took the Capitals to an above par score of 204 in their respective 20 overs against the unbeaten Super Giants.
Chasing a total of 205, the Durban Super Giants were never really in the game. After a decent opening stand of 39 runs they kept on losing wickets and found themselves behind the game. Jacks himself struck twice as the Super Giants lost their top four inside 12 overs with a high score of 33 from Matthew Breetzke.
The Super Giants could not make a come back in the game and was eventually handed their first defeat of the season by 17 runs.
