(Cricket News) It has come to light that Virat Kohli’s wife Anushka Sharma has given birth to their second child, after their personal reason for skipping the current Test series against England. The couple named their kid Akaay, and Kohli revealed this information on Instagram. The boy was born on February 15.
Prior to the opening Test of the current series against England, the former Indian captain had been in Hyderabad. He later said that he will not be available for the entire series in order to spend time with his family. At the beginning, he had only withdrawn for the first two games. Just over a week ago, India, who are leading the five-match series 2-1, revealed their final three Test squad members.
Kohli had withdrawn from the final three Test matches of the 2020–21 Australian tour when he and Anushka were expecting their first child. Ajinkya Rahane had filled in for Kohli as India’s captain for the final three Test matches. In light of the impending World Cup on June 1, Kohli returned to the T20 team for a series against Afghanistan in mid-January, the last time he played for India.
Additionally, India said on Tuesday that KL Rahul, who had initially replaced Kohli at the No. 4 spot in the batting order, is still not fully healthy and that they would be resting Jasprit Bumrah for the fourth Test match against England.
