Real Madrid made a strong comeback to winning ways on Saturday after suffering back-to-back losses to Barcelona and AC Milan. At the Santiago Bernabeu, Carlo Ancelotti’s team easily defeated Osasuna, ultimately winning 4-0.
Real Madrid had a difficult first half before Vinicius Junior gave them the lead after 34 minutes. They had already lost Eder Militao and Rodrygo Goes to injury, though, and there are severe concerns that the latter has torn his ACL for the second straight season.
Jude Bellingham would eventually score his first goal of the season five minutes before halftime thanks to a fantastic assist from rookie defender Raul Asencio, who had taken Militao’s place after his injury.
Vinicius completed his second hat-trick of the season with two goals in the first ten minutes of the second half. After doing a fantastic job of grabbing an Andriy Lunin pass for his brace, Brahim Diaz put him up for his third of the afternoon.
After playing the same number of games, the outcome puts Real Madrid within six points of Barcelona. However, with a victory at Real Sociedad on Sunday night, the league leaders can restore the nine-point gap.
