US Soccer said Wednesday that the 2025 SheBelieves Cup will pit the Olympic champion U.S. women’s national football team against Japan, Australia, and Colombia.
The tenth edition of the competition will consist of a round-robin, six-game, three-day format with goal differential, most goals, and total points serving as tiebreakers.
As they are ready to qualify for the 2027 Women’s World Cup in Brazil, the US women, who have won five SheBelieves titles and seven overall, will play their first home games.
US coach Emma Hayes stated, “This will be my first SheBelieves Cup, but I’ve followed the tournament and it always produces close games between top teams.”
“To get three games against talented teams and players in a format that replicates group play at a world championship is valuable in our process,” she continued. “All four of these teams participated in the last World Cup and Olympics, and all are in the building process to qualify for the next World Cup.”
Opening games include the United States vs. Colombia and Australia vs. Japan in Houston on February 20; the United States vs. Australia and Japan vs. Colombia match at Glendale, Arizona on February 23; Japan vs. the United States women on February 26; and Australia vs. Colombia in San Diego.
