(Cricket news) India are 2-0 up with 2 comfortable victories in the ongoing Test series against Australia. The likes of Rohit Sharma, Mohammed Shami and Virat Kohli have made their contributions to the team. However there are 3 players whose contributions stand out above everyone else. The players are India’s spin bowling all-rounders Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel. The trio have been fabulous with both bat and ball in the first 2 games. The men in blue are heavily dependent on them when it comes to home Tests.
In the 2 games Ravichandran Ashwin has picked up 14 wickets (4 innings) and scored 60 runs (2 innings). Ravindra Jadeja has won the player of the match in both the games for getting 17 scalps (4 innings) and scoring 96 runs (2 innings). Axar Patel has underbowled in the series and hence has only 1 wicket (1 wicket). However he is the 2nd highest run scorer in the series with 158 runs (2 innings).
The great thing about them is that they can play in the team as a pure bowler or a pure batters which is a massive advantage to have. A lot of India’s success at home has been due to the brilliance of Ashwin and Jadeja while Axar Patel in his short career has also single handedly won games for India.
India’s line-up is so perfectly balanced with 5 incredible bowling options and batting till number 9. Beating India at home has become almost impossible because Axar, Ashwin and Jadeja use the conditions really well. The flip side of that is that home side are sometimes too dependent on those 3 especially with the bat. The top and middle order have to perform a little better to show even more domination over Australia. Coming into the 3rd Test the men in blue are likely to make a maximum of 1 change as KL Rahul could be replaced by Shubman Gill. India will be hoping for a win which will guarantee their place in the World Test Championship final.
