(Cricket News) The star Indian batter and the No.1 T20I batter in the world Suryakumar Yadav joined the Mumbai Indians side on the 5th April ahead of their next clash against the Delhi Capitals. Surya was out with an injury since December 2023 and is expected to make a return against the Capitals on Sunday.
Mumbai has had a horror start to the season, losing the first 3 games under their new skipper Hardik Pandya. The side has underperformed as per their standards. They also conceded a mammoth record-breaking 278 runs against the SRH. Surya’s comeback will surely boost the morale of the side to a huge extent.
Surya will add the much needed firepower to the Mumbai’s batting that has not been very impressive. The order and the likes of Rohit, Ishan and Naman has gotten starts, but they haven’t managed to make it big. They were restricted to a below par score of 125 against the Rajasthan Royals in their first home game.
Surya has also been an integral part of the Mumbai set-up doing the bulk of the scoring, in the star-studded batting lineup. He has arguably been their best batter in the past few years and Mumbai will want him fire in order to register their first victory of the season.
Delhi Capitals, on the other hand has performed below par as well. They have managed to win just a solitary game out of the 4 which they have played. Rishabh Pant’s return to form however has been the highlight for the side. Capitals will bank on their skipper to fire yet again on Sunday. All eyes will also be on the Delhi bowlers who put up an embarrassing display, conceding 272 against the KKR.
