Despite the persistent rumors, one striker has stated that he will not be joining Chelsea during the upcoming January transfer window.
The striker has confirmed that he will remain at his current club and will not be joining any other ones during the winter transfer window.
In what became yet another transfer fiasco, Chelsea attempted to sign Victor Osimhen during the summer transfer window after he had been strongly linked to them for a while.
Osimhen appeared destined to join Chelsea after wanting to leave Napoli. To continue playing this season, the striker had to accept a loan move to Galatasaray in Turkey after the Blues were unable to finalize the transaction late in the transfer window.
According to certain rumors, Osimhen might depart the Turkish team in January, in which case Chelsea would be interested in signing him once more. However, he has recently stated that he will remain in his current location until the summer at the latest.
According to Soccernet.ng, Chelsea’s pursuit of Osimhen will have to wait.
Despite Nicolas Jackson’s better goal-scoring performance, Chelsea is still interested in bringing the former LOSC Lille striker to Stamford Bridge. The Blues are certain Osimhen will fill the vacuum left by their search for a striker who can ensure at least 20 goals per season.
According to Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu, Osimhen stated following Galatasaray’s 2-1 victory over Beşiktaş last night that he will remain with the team till the conclusion of his loan period next summer.
“Are you here for the season’s second half?”
“Yes, I am here,” said Victor Osimhen.
Thus, Osimhen remains in Turkey for the remainder of this season at the very least. In the summer, we’ll see if Chelsea returns.
