The Punjab Kings (PBKS) will see the return of their four key overseas players – Marcus Stoinis, Josh Inglis, Aaron Hardie, and Kyle Jamieson – who are set to rejoin the team in India on Tuesday.
Marcus Stoinis, Josh Inglis, Aaron Hardie, and Kyle Jamieson will be immediately available for selection, starting with PBKS’ upcoming IPL 2025 match against Delhi Capitals on Saturday, May 24th.
This comes as PBKS, having already secured a playoff spot for the first time since IPL 2014, aims for a top-two finish in the league stage.
Stoinis and Inglis have had limited game time this season as PBKS rotated their overseas players to find a stable middle order, despite the team’s strong performance driven by their top-order batsmen and bowlers. Stoinis has scored 82 runs in seven innings at a strike rate of 167.34, while Inglis has made 92 runs in six innings at a strike rate of 139.39.
Aaron Hardie, the seam-bowling all-rounder who was bought for INR 1.25 crore, is yet to play a match this season. Similarly, Kyle Jamieson, who joined as a replacement for the injured Lockie Ferguson earlier in the season, has also not featured for PBKS. However, at least one of them could play a crucial role in the playoffs once Marco Jansen departs for the World Test Championship (WTC) final after the league stage concludes.
The other overseas players in the PBKS squad include Azmatullah Omarzai, Xavier Bartlett, and Mitch Owen. After their game against Delhi Capitals on Saturday, PBKS will play their final league stage match against Mumbai Indians on Monday, May 26th.
