(Cricket news) With less than a week left for the third India vs England test to be played in Rajkot, the speculations over the Indian squad are in full pace. The suspense over Virat Kohli’s inclusion for the last three tests continues, with reports suggesting that the star Indian batter may miss the entire series due to personal reasons.
Kl Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja’s return to the squad are also under question, with the former likely to be fit for the Rajkot test. Rahul can possibly replace Shreyas Iyer in the squad who’s place is under threat given his poor form slump. However the participation of Jadeja, who is recovering from a hamstring injury, in the third test, at his home ground is still unsure.
India having won the 2nd test is high on confidence, however the lack of experience in their middle order, in the absence of Virat and KL has been visible throughout the first two tests. The Indian middle-order has been short on runs with the likes of Shreyas Iyer, KS bharat failing to deliver.
Jasprit Bumrah, the No.1 Test bowler in the world might be rested from the third test in order to manage his workload. In his absence Mohammad Siraj is expected to return to the squad and lead the Indian pace attack.
The Selection committee was expected to meet on Thursday, for the declaration of the squad, however the squad has still not been released and can be announced anytime now.
