(Cricket news): The Indian Premier League is set to continue after a gap of 4 months as the pandemic caused a break in the middle of the tournament. The first half saw over 29 matches played and now in the second half, there will be a total of 27 matches before the qualifiers. The final will be played one month from now on October 15th. Out of the 8 teams only Delhi Capital and Punjab Kings have played 8 matches as the rest have played 7 matches.

The teams will play a total of 14 matches which will see the top four teams enter the qualifiers. The second half will be crucial as every match will give the teams a chance to enter the top four of the points table. Bottom placed Sunrisers Hyderabad will hope their luck changes in Dubai and Sharjah as top placed Delhi Capitals will hope their wheel of fortune keeps rolling. Mumbai Indians are currently placed 4th, they are known for their comebacks and the expectations are no different this time.

Since the venue has shifted from India to UAE there will be a significant change in every team as the pitch will be different and there will also be spectators in limited numbers this time which will bring the old charm back. The matches will start on September 19 and the schedule has also been released.
