Sony Sports channels, the official broadcaster of the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, has announced the launch of SPORTS EXTRAAA, a live wraparound studio show with an illustrious lineup of panellists and guests who will engage audiences across India with their expert insights and analysis, as well as rally support for our Indian athletes competing at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. From July 23, 2021, the comprehensive coverage of the global event will be carried LIVE in four languages: English on SONY TEN 2 and SONY SIX channels, Hindi on SONY TEN 3 channels, and Tamil and Telugu on the newly launched SONY TEN 4 channels, as well as livestreamed on SonyLIV.
Sony Sports' Live wraparound studio show, SPORTS EXTRAAA, strives to increase fan involvement and provide an unrivalled viewing experience for fans across the country. Former Olympians and legendary Indian athletes such as Vijender Singh, Gagan Narang, Karnam Malleswari, Anjali Bhagwat, Anju Bobby George, Sakshi Malik, Viren Rasquinha, Somdev Devvarman, Trupti Murgunde, Rahul Banerjee, Kripa Shankar, and Satish Shivalingam will be part of the committee sharing insights in real time on the LIVE studio show. Yohan Blake, the world-renowned sprinter and four-time Olympic champion who is regarded as the second fastest man after Usain Bolt, will also be featured as a marquee expert.
Arpit Sharma, Ridhima Pathak, and Raman Bhanot of Sony Sports will headline SPORTS EXTRAAA, which will also feature sports journalists Ayaz Memon and Gaurav Kalra. Parth Jindal, Mustafa Ghouse, Manisha Malhotra, Rushdee Warley, and other well-known sports figures will also be speaking about different aspects of high-performance sports like athletic performance management, handling pressure, and share their insights on the performance of athletes in Tokyo at SPORTS EXTRAAA.
Sony Sports also launched “Hum Honge Kamyab,” one of the most ambitious campaigns in Indian Olympic history, with the goal of inspiring the nation to rally behind the Indian contingent and promote the cause of Indian athletes for #Tokyo2020. The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, as well as notable persons, have partnered with Sony Sports, and are now part of the brigade. They are Union Minister for I&B and Youth Affairs & Sports, Shri Anurag Thakur, General Bipin Rawat, Chief of Defence Staff and Chairman Chiefs of Staff Committee and Mr. N.P.
