According to a press release by the Sydney Sixers, the defending champions and their starwalt Mitchell Starc mutually agreed that the pacer would not join the squad for this Saturday’s KFC BBL Final at the SCG. Starc signed with the Sydney Sixers for this season of BBL, however, following a long cricketing season with the Australian National Side and Covid enforced hubs, the star is taking a well earned break. Now that the Sixers are through to a second successive BBL Final, all parties have agreed that changes to the squad at this point of time were unnecessary. Jodie Hawkins, Sixers General Manager said “Our current squad have done an incredible job all season to qualify for the final while playing every game on the road and Mitch and the club are really comfortable with this decision.” Starc echoed Hawkin’s sentiments and said “I’ve always felt part of the club and I am right behind them for another big win on Saturday night.”
