(Cricket News) Prithvi Shaw is all set to make a comeback in Mumbai’s upcoming Ranji Trophy match against Bengal in Kolkata, beginning on February 2. Shaw, who had been sidelined for six months due to a knee injury, is now ready to return to competitive cricket.
The talented batsman suffered a knee injury in August while playing a one-day game for Northamptonshire. Despite being in excellent form with scores of 244 and an unbeaten 125 before the injury, he had to put his cricketing activities on hold.
Confirming his fitness status, a BCCI official stated, “He has been declared fit and can take part in the Ranji Trophy games. The BCCI has informed the MCA (Mumbai Cricket Association) about it.” Shaw has been actively honing his skills in the practice nets at the NCA in Bengaluru. An earlier MRI had revealed a grade-II tear of the posterior cruciate ligament.
Since his debut in 2018, Shaw has represented India in five Tests, six ODIs, and one T20I. His return to the domestic circuit is eagerly anticipated, marking a significant moment in his journey back to top-level cricket after the injury setback.
