(Football news) Inter Milan were held to a 0-0 draw against Atalanta as Inter Milan dropped points in Serie A for the first time in more than two months as Atalanta held the league leaders to an entertaining 0-0 draw on Sunday to end their eight-match winning run. Atalanta goalkeeper Juan Musso produced a spectacular save in the first half, before his Inter counterpart Samir Handanovic responded with two crucial interventions of his own after the break. There were chances aplenty in a battle between two of the division's most attacking sides, but neither team could find the breakthrough despite producing a combined 23 shots.
It was the first time since last January that Inter failed to find the net, a run of 39 league matches. The champions moved two points clear in first place and extended their unbeaten league run to 13 matches, but AC Milan can knock them off top spot by beating Spezia on Monday. Atalanta remained fourth, sandwiched one point behind Napoli and one ahead of Juventus.
"It is a great result for us, because Inter usually dominates," said Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini. "There were some moments that were in our favour and some not. Both teams wanted to win and that made it a great game."
"It's a good draw given how it went. It could have gone either way. It was the right result, it's never easy against Atalanta," Inter captain Handanovic said
Juventus continued their surge up the table as they won 2-0 against Udinese. Paulo Dybala glared at Juventus directors instead of celebrating after scoring in a 2-0 Serie A win over Udinese on Saturday, which sent the Turin club one point behind fourth-placed Atalanta.United States international Weston McKennie headed home Juve's second in the 79th minute to stretch their unbeaten league run to eight games. Juve remained fifth but moved on to 41 points, level with Atalanta in fourth, who have two games in hand. Udinese are 14th with 20 points. Allegri marked his 300th game as Juventus coach, becoming the third manager to reach the landmark after Giovanni Trapattoni and Marcello Lippi
Only 5,000 fans were allowed into the Allianz Stadium as part of new restrictions to fight the spread of the virus, but those who turned up were eager to see their side respond to an Italian Super Cup defeat by rivals Inter Milan on Wednesday. Dybala sent them on the road to victory when he curled in a finish, but the striker's reaction is sure to spark further speculation about his future.
Dybala downplayed the gesture after the game and said "I invited a friend and couldn't find him, there were a lot of people,"
Asked if that explanation should be believed, Dybala replied: "I don't know, that is up to you."
I have nothing to prove to anyone. The club decided that we will talk in February or March, I am available to the coach,
