(Football news) Heartbreaking reports have emerged from Barcelona as Sergio Aguero who had been ruled out for 3 months after heart problems might be forced to hang up his boots. Aguero had to be subbed off at the 42nd minute against Deportivo Alaves after he complained about chest pains.
The Argentine’s incredible career may come to a premature end which is something football fans all around the world would not want to happen. After 10 glorious years at Manchester City, Aguero returned to Spain where he previously played for Atletico Madrid. His tenure didn't start well as he picked up an injury before the season started and his mate Lionel Messi who was one of the reasons he signed for the Blaugrana left the club.
The 33-year-old has struggled with injuries for the past couple of seasons and had to wait for 2 months after joining Barcelona to make his debut. This time he has been officially ruled out for 3 months but now the issue has been reported to be much more severe than it seemed at first. Despite the reports, Aguero said via twitter that he is following the instructions of the medical experts and will see his progress after 90 days. The striker also said that he is always positive in any situation.

Christian Eriksen also had a similar issue after he collapsed at the Euros. The Danish midfielder isn't allowed to play in Italy but can continue his career elsewhere. The cases of heart problems in footballers are rising day by day. What is surprising is that the medical staff is not able to diagnose any of these problems. The ridiculous amount of fixtures being played in football these days is definitely one of the reasons. VAR could be identified as another with the play being allowed to continue further than it was before causing players to work more and unnecessarily. The good thing is that the issue has now come to light and hopefully football doctors all around the world can come up with a solution.
If Aguero's career is indeed over then what a career he has had. With 282 career goals including that iconic last minute goal against QPR, Aguero's name will be written in football history in gold letters. His absence is a huge blow to new Barcelona manager Xavi who would've surely loved to have Kun at his disposal.
