Scaloni Faces Criticism, Stays Iconic

The head coach of Argentina’s national football team, Lionel Scaloni, has come under fire from both coaches and former players.  Diego Maradona’s recent comments brought Scaloni’s leadership under harsh examination, and no one has had quite the same influence.  But instead of arguing in public, Scaloni, who is unwavering in his strategy, has decided to react exclusively with action and outcomes.  “Do you really think this is a good project?” asked panelist and former Newell’s player Sebastián Domínguez, casting doubt on Scaloni’s project under this tumultuous backdrop.

“The reality is that what is happening is wrong,” said former Racing Club coach Eduardo Coudet, who further expressed his disapproval of the current status of the national squad.  Argentina shouldn’t have a temporary coach.  Coaches with 15 or 20 years of experience would undoubtedly be thrilled to take charge of the national team.  “I will eat a raw pig if Scaloni is coaching the U-20 team in a year,” Coudet continued, making a daring prediction.  His remarks reveal a great deal of annoyance with Scaloni’s provisional position.

Adding to the confusion, ESPN commentator Cristian Fabbiani, better known by his stage name El Ogro, expressed his worries by stating, “I don’t see a clear playing style.”  The players are great, but you need a good coach.  Argentina currently lacks a qualified coach.  Later on, though, Fabbiani took back his remarks, admitting that Scaloni’s leadership had produced favorable outcomes.  “I was outspoken and I take responsibility for what I said back then,” he said, expressing regret.  I sincerely apologize.

Despite all of this criticism, Scaloni has remained focused on his duties and guided the national team to victory.  He has become the most successful coach in the history of Argentine football, joining the likes of Carlos Salvador Bilardo and César Luis Menotti as world winners.  With unwavering perseverance, Scaloni hopes to enhance Argentine football’s history as well as his own.
