(Football news) The Premier League is up and running in full force. Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Brighton and Liverpool are the only teams that have won both the games. West Ham or Leicester City could also end up on 6 points after their game on monday night.
Liverpool picked it up exactly where they left off. After a dominant display away at Norwich City, Jurgen Klopp's men got a comfortable win against Burnley. Burnley famously broke Liverpool's unbeaten home record last season but the Merseyside club got the better of them this time around. Diogo Jota scored an 18th minute header to give Liverpool the lead and Sadio Mane's second half goal sealed the deal. It's no secret that Liverpool are a far better team with their first choice defenders. Trent Alexander Arnold looked like his old self as he gave a match winning performance with an assist and a solid defensive display. In Andy Robertson's absence, Konstantinos Tsimikas got an assist, was very solid at left back and got a standing ovation at Anfield. Liverpool prepare to host Chelsea next week for potentially a place at the top of the table.
Romelu Lukaku made his 2nd Chelsea debut against Arsenal in what was supposed to be a derby game. The game didn't look like a derby or a grudge match at any point, it was simply men against boys. Lukaku was the difference maker in the whole game. The Belgian played the perfect number 9 role as he scored the opening goal. Lukaku's hold up play and run ins were nothing short of perfection and the Arsenal defence couldn't deal with him. Left back Keiren Tierney was exposed multiple times by Reece James who bagged Chelsea's second. The blues could have easily won by 4 or 5 goals. It is going to be another long and draining season for Arsenal who face Manchester City at the Etihad next week. Mikel Arteta needs to come up with a solution or a miracle to get his side back on track or he is looking down the exit door. Chelsea on the other hand look stronger than last season with 5 goals scored and none conceded in their 2 games. Next week at Liverpool would be the real test for Thomas Tuchel as well as Romelu Lukaku who will square up against Virgil Van Dijk.

Manchester United had a dream start to their league campaign after a 5-1 victory against Leeds. The progression has faced a minor setback as Southampton held them to a draw. Manchester United's poor defence once again was their own enemy. A 30th minute strike by Che Adams made its way to the back of the United goal after a massive deflection of Fred. The goal came after a supposed foul on Bruno Fernandes which was waved off. The duo of Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes again linked up to set up Mason Greenwood's equaliser. The Red Devils never looked in control of the game. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in his post match interview criticised the referee and VAR's decision, likening the tackle on Bruno Fernandes as one that’s often seen in ‘rugby’. United travel to Wolves next week in order to get their season back on track. Raphael Varane who was on the bench is likely to make his debut at the Molineux Stadium.
After stunning Manchester City in the opening week to get all 3 points, Spurs defeated Wolves by a goal to nil. Dele Alli won and converted a penalty in the 10th minute to score the only goal of the game. Tottenham were very strong defensively with youngster Japhet Tanganga once again shining at right back while Oliver Skipp and Pierre-Emile Højbjerg's double pivot dominated the midfield. Despite the transfer speculations Harry Kane came on as a substitute in the 72nd minute. Spurs host newly promoted Wattford next week where Kane could start alongside Son Heung-min.
After a disappointing defeat against Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City came back in the strongest way possible as they caused mayhem against Norwich City. Pep Guardiola's men scored 5 past Tim Krul's goal as Jack Grealish, Raheem Sterling, Riyad Mahrez and Aymeric Laporte all got on the score sheet. Gabriel Jesus gave 2 assists in his inspiring performance which should make him the starting striker for at least a while in this city team. Guardiola will be hoping for another big win against his former assistant Mikel Arteta's Arsenal next week.
