(Motorsports news) This year, Red Bull has asked its fans to design liveries for each of the three US-based Grands Prix as part of a campaign called Make Your Mark. Following the pink and teal embellishments on its Miami-spec RB19, Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez will race in the colors of the Texan lone star flag at Austin’s Circuit of the Americas.

The characteristic star and tri-color design is featured on the bottom half of the Red Bull’s car, from the nose to the rear wing. Franco Cavallone, a 39-year-old graphic designer from Argentina, drew the livery, which beat out 2000 other entries in a fan vote after an Argentina-based designer also won the Miami contest.

“The moment I was told I’d won, it was a rollercoaster of emotions, I was so happy,” Cavalone remarked before flying to the US Grand Prix as a Red Bull guest. “I remember when I first learned about Make Your Mark, I was watching the second practice session at the Miami GP – it was my first race – and I discovered the Oracle Red Bull Racing livery was designed by an Argentine fan, just like me.”

“When I returned to my hotel, I researched the competition, signed up for The Paddock, and began designing my livery for Austin right away.” I was inspired by Austin and the Circuit of the Americas’ stripes and stars, as well as the sweeping red, white, and blue lines surrounding the track’s bends. “It’s like a dream that this is happening to me, seeing my design on the Red Bull car will be the best day ever, I can’t wait to see it on track.”

“It’s really exciting to see this unique, fan-led competition come to life and coincide with the growth of Formula 1 and our supporters in the US, and to invite our global fanbase into the team and our garage to make their mark and design the very livery we race with,” team principal Christian Horner added. “I think Franco did an excellent job, and the car looks fantastic, showcasing Texan colors and culture.”

It’s not every day that we unveil a one-of-a-kind livery, so the fact that it was designed by our fans makes it even more unique. “Our hunger for winning continues for the remainder of the season, so hopefully this livery will be as winning as Martina’s in Miami, which saw Max and Checo finish on the top two steps of the podium.”
