Real Madrid will play Braga in UCL

When Braga visits the Bernabeu on Wednesday in Group C, Real Madrid only needs a point to move on to the Champions League knockout stages

(Football news) With three wins out of three in European play thus far, Los Blancos have an impeccable record and are currently two spots and six points ahead of their Iberian opponents.

Real Madrid, who are aiming for the fifteenth European Cup in 2023–24, have so far handled themselves with professionalism in the group stage, defeating Union Berlin and Napoli each by a single goal, before a similar incident occurred on Braga’s field.

Just after the hour, Jude Bellingham’s customary goal and Rodrygo’s near-post finish would put Los Blancos ahead by two goals. Two minutes after Bellingham’s excellent effort, Alvaro Djalo beat Kepa Arrizabalaga at the near post, but Carlo Ancelotti’s team saw out the last 30 minutes to maintain their perfect record in Group C.

Real Madrid just needs to win on Wednesday to guarantee a top-two finish, as Union Berlin has yet to secure a single point in Group C. In the event that Napoli suffers a shocking loss to the German minnows, a win would put them within a point of both top spot and the top spot itself.

Real’s eight-game unbeaten streak is nothing to laugh at, but the team’s highs and lows were experienced during their thrilling 2-1 El Clasico victory over Barcelona and their frustrating goalless draw with Rayo Vallecano on Sunday. Ancelotti’s team attempted 22 shots and controlled 63% of the ball, but to no avail.

Along with winning seven of their previous eight Champions League home games, Los Blancos have also not lost and have scored in 24 straight continental games at the Bernabeu since a shocking 3-0 loss to CSKA Moscow in 2018. They have also not failed to score in a match since 2018.
