Real Madrid

(Football news) Los Blancos lead the section with six points out of a possible six, three ahead of Braga in third position. Braga has won one and lost one of their opening two matches in this challenging group.

Braga’s Group C campaign got off to a frustrating start as they lost 2-1 at home to Napoli after giving up late goals. The defeat was especially painful because Bruma had tied the score in the 84th minute for the Portuguese team.

On matchday two, Artur Jorge’s team was dealt a late blowout by Union Berlin, as the Primeira Liga team overcame a two-goal deficit to win 3-2 in Germany. Castro scored the team’s third goal of the game in the 94th minute.

Braga, who currently sits fourth in the Primeira Liga standings with 16 points from eight games, will enter this match riding a five-game winning streak that includes wins in their past three league games.

As they are ready to play the most successful club in European football for the first time, Os Arcebispos will be playing in a historic match on Tuesday. In their three prior meetings with Spanish teams, all of which were against Sevilla, the club has a record of two wins.

In their final Champions League group stage competition, Braga placed fourth in a group that also contained Manchester United and Galatasaray in the 2012–13 campaign.

Real Madrid, on the other hand, has won both of their opening games in this season’s league. They defeated Union Berlin 1-0 to start Group C and then defeated Napoli 3-2 in Italy to round out the season.

With 25 points from their first 10 games of the season, Los Blancos lead the section and are atop the La Liga standings. However, on Saturday night, Carlo Ancelotti’s team’s four-game winning streak came to an end.

In the league encounter between Real Madrid and Sevilla at Estadio Ramon, Real Madrid was actually behind in the 74th minute. However, four minutes later, Dani Carvajal tied the score, and the capital team shared the victory despite playing below par for extended periods of time.

Braga will be confident going into Tuesday’s meeting because Los Blancos, the 14-time winners of the European Cup, have actually lost eight of their previous 24 away games in this competition and have only won eight of those games.

Real Madrid has defeated Portuguese opponents 14 times, drawn twice, and lost five of their previous 21 games, but they have won 10 of their 12 games this season across all competitions.
