Real Madrid host Cadiz in last home match of the year without Benzema

(Football news) Real Madrid after a flying start to the campaign, have dropped in form. Los Blancos have won 1, lost 2 and drawn 1 of their last 4 games. Carlo Ancelotti's men are currently 5 points behind league leaders FC Barcelona but they do have a game in hand. It is important that Madrid end the first half of the season with a win to close the gap at the top. A loss or even a draw at this stage of the season could be catastrophic to Real Madrid's season. This year the Santiago Bernabeu has witnessed some great matches and moments and the game against Cadiz will be Real Madrid's last one at the Bernabéu.

The big miss ofcourse is Karim Benzema who is yet to be fully match fit. Benzema's injury issues are a big concern for Real Madrid, especially considering that he will be playing the World Cup with France. Real Madrid may well be looking at a striker in January. Antonio Rudiger is also out of contention due to injury while Toni Kroos is back from suspension. Marco Asensio could be the player to make way for Kroos. Carlo Ancelotti will definitely not be looking to rest any players as he desperately needs 3 points. As for Cadiz, Victor Chust, Fali, Joseba Zaldua, Momo Mbaye and Jon Ander Garrido will all be missing due to respective injuries.

Cadiz is an opposition that has troubled Real Madrid in the past with their low block. Los Blancos will come into the game expecting to get very few chances. Cadiz usually like to hold their defense in a low block. Real Madrid will have to take the few chances they get otherwise it could turn out to be a very frustrating night at the Bernabéu. Carlo Ancelotti could be tempted to play David Alaba at left back just to get some more quality going forward. The biggest task for the Real Madrid manager will be to make sure that his players don't think about the World Cup and get their heads in the game.
