Real Madrid host Almeria, Atletico Madrid play away at Real Valladolid

(Football news) Real Madrid mid-week were dismantled 4-2 by Girona in what was a shambolic performance. Los Blancos were missing a few players but it was still very unexpected. Now they return to the Santiago Bernabéu for a game against 15th placed Almeria. Even though the league is pretty much done the game is crucial for Real Madrid to get some momentum before the Copa Del Rey final and the Champions League semi final.

Ferland Mendy and David Alaba are still unavailable while Luka Modric is the latest player to suffer an Injury. Karim Benzema and Thibaut Courtois are back after missing the Girona game while Eden Hazard has also recovered from his knock. Almeria will be without Diego Fuoli and El Bilal Toure but Rodrigo Ely will be back from suspension.

Barcelona had a chance of going 14 points clear of Real Madrid but they lost 2-1 to Rayo Vallecano. Now they will be looking to get back on track as they take on 6th placed Real Betis at the Camp Nou. Barcelona will be without Sergi Roberto but Ousmane Dembele and Andreas Christensen are both set to return. Sergio Busquets is also back from suspension.

Despite having a 11 point lead at the top Barcelona will want to get back to winning ways in order to finish the season strongly. As for Betis Victor Ruiz, Juanmi, Youssouf Sabaly and Nabil Fekir are all out of contention. Betis have only won 2 of their last 6 games and they will be keen to get a victory in order to stay in the race for European football next season.

Atletico Madrid despite a blip against Barcelona are having a very good 2nd half of the season. In their last game against Mallorca they came back from a goal down to win 3-1. The Rojiblancos are jst 2 points behind Real Madrid and they will be very keen on overtaking their arch rivals. Atletico Madrid have the advantage as they only have the league to focus on while Real Madrid have CDR and UCL fixtures.

Now they take on relegation threatened Real Valladolid away from home. Atletico are still missing Jan Oblak, Marcos Llorente, Stefan Savic and Reinildo are still on the treatment table, while Memphis Depay has an outside chance of making it to the bench. Valladolid on the other hand will be without Anuar Tuhami through injury, while Selim Amallah and Jawad El Yamiq are doubts.
