(Cricket News) Ambati Rayudu met with Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan at the party office in Vijayawada on Wednesday, following his recent departure from Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy’s YSRCP.

In his earlier announcement, Rayudu had declared his intention to take a temporary break from politics. He shared on social media, “This is to inform everyone that I have decided to quit the YSRCP Party and stay out of politics for a little while,” X.

In a more detailed statement on Wednesday, Rayudu explained that his political ideology diverges from that of Jagan Reddy’s YSRCP. He went on to reveal that, after meeting Pawan Kalyan, he discovered a congruence of viewpoints with the Jana Sena Party chief. Rayudu, who had previously announced his retirement from the Indian Premier League (IPL) after the 2023 season, reflected on his emotional farewell from cricket. In the IPL final against the Gujarat Titans, playing for the Chennai Super Kings, he contributed a crucial cameo, scoring 19 runs off eight deliveries, ultimately aiding CSK in securing their fifth IPL title.

Rayudu’s illustrious IPL career saw him participate in 204 games for Mumbai Indians and later for CSK, amassing 4348 runs. In his international career with India, Rayudu scored 1694 runs in 55 One Day Internationals (ODIs) and played six T20Is. Expressing gratitude, he wrote, “I consider it my greatest honor to have represented my country from the Under-15 to the highest level. I still remember the day I received my India cap for the first time in 2013 – it is a memory I will cherish forever.”
