(Football News) Barcelona are on their way to winning La Liga for the first time since 2019. The Blaugrana needed this win after signing so many players by pulling multiple financial levers in the summer. One of their signings was Raphinha whose season was a mixed bag. The Brazilian winger was 1 step away from joining Chelsea but at the last minute joined Barcelona. Raphina has got 10 goals and 11 assists this season which isn’t too bad. However, he has been a little inconsistent and has a tendency to have poor games. His Barcelona future is uncertain because Barcelona need to complete a couple of big sales. 

A post on Instagram said that Raphinha has agreed to leave Barcelona in the summer. The player commented on the post “Fake news. Who shared that news is not well informed & not professional”. Despite Raphinha saying that the news is fake, his departure is very likely especially if Barcelona want to sign Lionel Messi. After 2 seasons at PSG Messi and PSG have failed to reach an agreement for an extension. Publicly, Barcelona personnel has always said that they would welcome their icon back. However, the deal is very difficult to do because of the financial fair play rules and Barcelona’s situation.

La Liga president Javier Tebas has said that Barcelona cannot sign Messi under current circumstances and need to sell big. Ousmane Dembele is likely to stay and even extend his deal. Raphinha just like Messi plays on the wing so he is a likely candidate along with Ferran Torres and Ansu Fati. Out of everyone, Raphinha is the player who will bring in the most amount of money so there will is a high possibility that this will be his first and last season with Barcelona.
