(Football News) On Monday, Paris Saint-Germain made an acquisition by signing forward Goncalo Ramos from the Portuguese club Benfica on a loan deal for the entire season, accompanied by an option to purchase him at the conclusion of the campaign.
The 22-year-old Ramos, who previously achieved 27 goals in 47 matches for Benfica, leading them to victory in the Portuguese league championship during the prior season, has an overall record of 41 goals across 106 appearances for the club located in Lisbon. He has also showcased his talents on the international stage for Portugal, scoring four times in seven outings, which includes a remarkable hat trick against Switzerland at the Qatar World Cup last year.
His arrival comes at a time when uncertainties loom over the futures of prominent forwards Kylian Mbappe and Neymar, just ahead of the commencement of the French champion PSG’s opening fixture of the season against Lorient on Saturday. Nasser Al-Khelaifi, the president of PSG, expressed his enthusiasm about Ramos, stating, “Goncalo is an exceptional international player, youthful, driven, and a team player.”
