The Saudi Esports Federation (SEF) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PUBG Mobile, one of the world’s most popular mobile battle royale games, in a move aimed at accelerating the growth of esports in the Kingdom.

This strategic partnership will open up significant new opportunities for Saudi players by aligning the SEF’s Saudi eLeague with the PUBG Mobile National Championship. The collaboration is set to enhance the competitive pathway from grassroots gaming to the international stage.

As part of this integration, the champion of the National Championship will secure a coveted spot at the PUBG Mobile World Cup. Scheduled to take place in Riyadh during July and August, the global tournament will be a highlight of the Esports World Cup and boasts a substantial prize pool of $3 million (~£2.2m), drawing 24 top teams from around the world.

In recent years, SEF has been actively building a sustainable esports infrastructure through multiple high-profile partnerships. In August 2024, it signed an MoU with MOONTON Games, the studio behind Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, to further bolster the Kingdom’s esports ambitions.

Additionally, SEF recently launched the SEF Arena, a state-of-the-art venue that hosts the Saudi eLeague and houses the SEF Academy—an initiative dedicated to nurturing emerging talent and fostering the next generation of esports professionals.

HRH Prince Faisal Bin Bandar, President of the Saudi Esports Federation, emphasized the Federation’s vision:
“SEF continues to take bold steps to cement Saudi Arabia’s leadership in the global esports domain. By collaborating with major titles like PUBG Mobile, we’re creating meaningful opportunities for our players, building structured pathways to global tournaments, and advancing a vibrant, sustainable esports ecosystem.”
