(Football news) For more than ten years, Verratti has been a dependable member of the Parisians’ midfield. After moving from Pescara to the club in 2012, he has played in 416 matches across all competitions, contributing 61 assists and 11 goals. However, a number of elite European clubs have expressed interest in the midfielder, with Atletico Madrid reportedly being one of his biggest supporters. However, the Parisians are seeking almost €70 million for Verratti.
If Verratti left, PSG has set their sights on Bernardo Silva as a player they want to invest in. The superstar from Manchester City has long been on the minds of Parisians. The Portugal international is well-liked by Luis Enrique, the new head coach of the Ligue 1 team.
Since joining the Cityzens in 2017 from AS Monaco, Silva has been fantastic. He has played in 306 games across all competitions, tallying 55 goals and 59 assists. When the Cityzens won the European treble last season, Silva was an important member of the team. In 55 games across different tournaments, he contributed eight assists in addition to seven goals. One of the best creative players in all of Europe, the quick-footed Portuguese has caught the attention of elite clubs like Barcelona.
However, PSG interest may deal a serious setback to the Blaugrana’s hopes of bringing Silva into their ranks. In order to bolster their creative unit following Lionel Messi’s departure to MLS team Inter Miami on a free transfer, PSG has long been interested in five-time Premier League champion Bernardo Silva.
During the most recent international break, when Portugal played Bosnia & Herzegovina and Iceland in the Euro 2024 qualifiers, Silva was questioned about his connections to PSG. (Through Record Portugal) He responded:
“I don’t shy away from questions. I still don’t know my future. Even if I did, this wouldn’t be the space to talk about it. It doesn’t mess with me. I’ve been at this for almost three years. I’m already quite used to it, and I’m very focused.”
Due to Silva’s exceptional talent, any team, even the Parisians, would want to have him among their ranks.
