(Football news) Manchester United and Leeds United will renew hostilities once again, this time at Elland Road with the Red Devils currently on 43 points while Leeds are 16th, above West Ham United. Leeds’ Wilfried Gnonto became the second player in history to score a first minute league goal against Manchester United at Old Trafford and despite going 2-0 up, Manchester United’s never-say-die attitude meant that the Red Devils managed to get a point from an unlikely situation.
Despite getting a point against Manchester United, interim manager Skubala will be disappointed to not walk away with three points. Leeds might not be in the relegation zone, but they are winless in eight consecutive Premier League games and have conceded at least two goals in four games at Elland Road prior to holding Brentford to a 0-0 draw on January 22nd.
In team news for Leeds, Luis Sinisterra might be unavailable for selection due to a hamstring strain while Pascal Struijk was forced off due to a concussion. This means that Junior Firpo should come in at left-back while Crysencio Summerville is expected to take Sinisterra’s place in the final third. The likes of Stuart Dallas, Rodrigo, Archie Gray and Adam Forshaw are also unavailable for selection while Liam Cooper and Marc Roca might be in contention.
As for Manchester United, Casemiro will be unavailable as he is serving the second of his three game ban while Christian Eriksen is out until May. The likes of Donny van de Beek, Scott McTominay and Antony Martial are also unavailable for selection while Antony (leg) and Aaron Wan Bissaka (illness) are doubtful for this clash. Wout Weghorst should feature in attack while new signing Marcel Sabitzer will play a part in midfield.
