(Football news) Having already lost twice in a row, Arsenal will be looking to get back to winning ways in their London derby fixture against Brentford at the Emirates Stadium. Relegation threatened Everton stunned Arsenal 1-0 at Goodison Park last week while Brentford secured an impressive 3-0 win over Southampton and have a realistic chance of qualifying for Europe.

Arsenal don’t have a very good record at Goodison Park and the trend continued as the Toffees bounced back under Sean Dyche in his first match in-charge. However, much to Arsenal’s relief, rivals Manchester City lost 1-0 to Tottenham Hotspur which left the Gunners five points clear at the top with a game in hand. Arsenal haven’t lost a single game at home this season, having won eight and drawn once in their last nine home fixtures, but with just two clean sheets.

In team news for Arsenal, Gabriel Jesus has returned to training but Mohamed Elneny is out for the season after undergoing surgery. Emile Smith Rowe won’t feature in this fixture due to a thigh problem alongside Reiss Nelson who is not match fit after recovering from a hamstring problem.

As for Brentford, Shandon Baptiste could recover from a groin problem to feature against Arsenal but Pontus Jansson, Frank Onyeka and Thomas Strakosha are unavailable. The Bees have no new injury concerns from their match against Southampton which mean Thomas Frank could feature the same starting lineup including Aaron Hickey at the right flank. Josh Dasilva could also feature against his former club while Ivan Toney will need to be cautious as he is one booking away from a two-game ban.
