(Cricket News) The Sri Lankan batter Pathum Nissanka has been ruled out of the upcoming T20I series against Bangladesh. Nissanka sustained a hamstring injury during the home series against Afghanistan which has made him unavailable for the Bangladesh T20s.
Avishka Fernando has been named as the replacement for the injured batter. Nissanka was initially expected to be fit in time for the series, however things haven’t panned out in favour of the batter which will now make him sit out.
Charith Asalanka will lead the Sri Lankan side, in the absence of Hasaranga who has received a suspension for two matches, because of openly criticizing the umpires during the series against Afghanistan. Hasaranga however will be back leading the side in the third game.
The Sri Lanka tour of Bangladesh is a multi-format tour that will kick-off on March 4 with the T20Is. Sri Lanka are set to play three T20Is, which will be followed by three ODIs and then two Tests in their tour.
