Following a lengthy wait, the PCB has finally approved England’s revised schedule, which includes back-to-back matches in Multan and a series finale in Rawalpindi during their Test tour of Pakistan next month.
The original plan for the three-Test series, which is a component of the ICC World Test Championship, was for a second Test to be held in Karachi, where England last visited in December 2022 and won a historic 3-0 clean sweep.
At one point in time, the series appeared to be headed to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), with Abu Dhabi being mentioned as a potential venue. The National Stadium in Karachi is presently undergoing major renovation work to prepare it for the ICC Champions Trophy in February 2025. Rawalpindi was unable to attend the second Test due to a significant international conference in neighboring Islamabad from October 15–16.
However, a deal has since been reached wherein the teams would stay in Multan for the second Test as well as the series’ start and finish in Rawalpindi and Multan, as originally planned.
October 2 is when England is scheduled to arrive in Multan, and it is also when Pakistan’s team is expected to come together in the city. The first Test is scheduled for October 7–11, while the second is scheduled for October 15–19, four days later. The third Test, which takes place in Rawalpindi from October 24 to 28, will see the teams move there.

We look forward to a fiercely competitive Test series and showcasing Pakistan’s renowned hospitality.”
Weeks of suspense surrounding the series were ended by the revelation; England last week announced an exceptionally large touring squad consisting of 17 players. Prior to the third Test match between Sri Lanka and England, England head coach Brendon McCullum stated that his team needed to know the locations ahead of time in order to choose a squad that was appropriate for the conditions.
The fans of England have been extremely irritated by the delay, and several tour operators have canceled their plans due to a lack of logistical planning.

7-11 Oct First Test, Multan
15-19 Oct Second Test, Multan
24-28 Oct Third Test, Rawalpindi
