(Basketball news) The Phoenix Suns won their third straight game with Kevin Durant as they defeated the Dallas Mavericks 130-126. For the Suns, Durant scored 37 points, including the go-ahead shot while  Booker scored 36 points, Deandre Ayton had nine points and 16 rebounds. For the Mavericks, Irving scored 30 points exactly four years to the day since the last time he faced Durant, when his Boston Celtics blew out Durant and the Golden State Warriors 128-95 as Doncic had 34 points and nine rebounds before he missed a point-blank shot that could have tied the score. Hardaway, who scored 18 of his 21 points in the first half and was 6 of 8 on 3-pointers. This could be the NBA’s newest rivalry as both teams cancelled each other out with some exceptional basketball. With this result the Suns moved to 4th in the West Conference standings with a record of 36-29.

“Nobody’s ever going to retreat when they guard me,” Durant said. “So sometimes I’ve got to veer off instead of straight-line driving it. I felt like I had a good handle on the ball. Once I had it on my hip I felt like I was in good position to stop on a dime.”

“Based on the words, I don’t think so,” Doncic said.

“You guys say you don’t want everybody to be friendly-friendly, there you go,” Booker said. “We got some smoke.”

The Los Angeles Lakers won 4 out of their 6 matches as they defeated the Golden State Warriors 113-105. For the Lakers, Davis scored 39 points, including 12 in the fourth quarter as it is the third time this season as Davis has had at least 39 points, it also came two nights after he scored 38 in a loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Austin Reaves scored 16 points and Brown had 14 points as they moved within a half game of New Orleans for 10th place in the Western Conference and the final play-in spot. For the Warriors, Curry, who missed 11 games due to a left leg injury, had 19 of his 27 points in the fourth quarter as Klay Thompson added 22 points.

“He’s in a very great place right now,” Lakers coach Darvin Ham said. “He has an unwillingness to settle and is staying in attack mode. He’s playing pain free and with great rhythm. We also have different pieces around him he can play off at a high level.”

“It felt great to get thrown back in there right away,” Curry said. “If I get better as the game goes on, that’s always a great sign for me individually. Even though we lost, some bright spots for sure.”

“I’m trying to be a little bit more aggressive. Also trying to make the right plays for guys to get to their points because it is going to open the floor for me even more,” said Davis, who also had eight rebounds and six assists in 38 minutes.
