Mohammad Nabi claims the no.1 all-rounder spot in ICC Rankings

(Cricket News) The star all-rounder from Afghanistan, Mohammad Nabi claims the top spot for the all-rounders in the latest ICC Rankings. Nabi replaces the veteran Bangladeshi all rounder Shakib Al Hasan at the top to claim the no.1 spot in the rankings.

Shakib had held this position for just under five years, since May 2019, but has now been dethroned by Nabi. Shakib hasn’t featured for Bangladesh in any of the formats post the conclusion of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. He has been suffering with an eye issue. He has, however, been in action for Rangpur Riders in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League season.

Nabi claimed the top spot following his wonderful knock of 136 against Sri Lanka in the opening ODI at Pallekele. He has also moved up one spot in the bowlers category and is now in the 7th position in the ICC ODI Bowlers Rankings. Nabi, however has lost one spot in the T20 all-rounders ranking and is now in the 4th position.

South Africa left-arm spinner Keshav Maharaj remains the leader among bowlers in the ODIs, while Jasprit Bumrah remains at the top in the Test bowlers arena. Another Afghan player Omarzai jumped 32 spots in the Men’s ODI all-rounder rankings to claim the 32nd position.
