(Cricket News) The Bangladeshi pacer, Mustafizur Rahman will be available for the CSK’s fixture against the Punjab Kings on the 1st of May. CSK will host PBKS on the 1st of May. The Bangladesh Cricket Board has extended the leave of Mustafizur, which would allow him to feature in an additional game for the Super Kings.
Mustafizur was earlier granted a No-objection certificate to participate in the IPL till the 30th April. BCB has now extended that for a day and has allowed him to stay for one more game for his franchise.
Mustafizur has been an integral part of the CSK setup with the ball. He has been one of the main death bowler alongside Pathirana for the Super Kings. He has picked up a total of 10 wickets in the 5 games and has been impressive.
“Mustafizur was supposed to return after April 30 but now we have allowed him to stay back for their match on May 1st. He is expected to arrive on May 2 for the T20 series against Zimbabwe (from May 3 to 12) and later we are not ready to release him as we want to rest him for a few days before the World Cup,” a BCB official confirmed
Bangladesh is scheduled to play the USA in the end of May, from 21-25. The series will consist of three T20Is and has been set to get acclimatized with the condition of USA. Bangladesh has not played a lot of cricket in the USA. Their previous visit to the country was in 2018, when they faced the West Indies in two T20Is.
The absence of Mustafizur can affect the balance of the Super Kings, who will have to figure out a potential option to bowl alongside Baby Malinga (Pathirana) in the death overs.
