(Cricket News) Mustafizur Rahman, the left-arm pacer from Bangladesh is likely to miss Chennai Super Kings’ next game against the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Muztafizur, is understood to be flown back to Bangladesh in order to complete his process for the USA Visa before the upcoming T20 World Cup in the US and Caribbean.

The pacer is expected to join the Chennai side back by the coming Sunday or Monday. CSK’s next clash is on the 5th of April, which is set to be played at Hyderabad against the Sunrisers. Post the game on Friday, Chennai has a home game scheduled on Monday against KKR and Mustafizur’s return on Monday might keep him away from that game as well.

Mustafizur has been impressive so far in the season for Chennai. He was awarded the Player of the match award in his debut game for the franchise where he registered match-winning figures of 4-29 in the opening game of IPL 2024 against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. He also holds the purple cap currently, taking a total of 7 wickets in three games.

“Mustafizur arrived last night from the IPL for US visa purposes for the upcoming T20 World Cup. He will be giving his fingerprint at the US embassy tomorrow (April 4) and later will travel back to India to join Chennai,” BCB cricket operation chairman Jalal Yunus .

Mustafizur will be available to play in the IPL only till the end of April, with the left-arm seamer slated to join the national side ahead of their five-match T20I series against Zimbabwe which starts on May 3. “His NOC for the tournament runs till April 30 and we are expecting him to back after that from IPL,” Yunus added.
