(Sports news) Three men’s teams from each category entered the Maha Final which is set to take place on the 28th of August 2022 in the first day of playoffs at the Sheru Classic Maha Mumbai Kabaddi League. In the Qualifier 1 from the sub-juniors category, Mumba che Maharaje reached the Maha Team Finals thanks to a brilliant performance by Om Kudale. The second finalist will be decided after the qualifier 2 match that will take place today.
The seniors category saw Mumbai Ultras Kabaddi Club being defeated in the Eliminators by 44 points. Namdev Iswalkar received the Player of the Match award while in the juniors category, the Borivali Bahubalis reached the finals by defeating Raje Chandra Rao Warriors by 17 points. The eliminator match between Gavali Dhurandhar and Namo Bharat Chembur resulted in the latter losing out as Akshay Tawde’s performance helped Dhurandhars reach the second qualifiers. The Raje Chandra Rao Warriors seniors team defeated Namo Bharat with the help of Rahul Takale’s incredible display.
The second qualifier matches will take place on the second day of the playoffs and SportVot, in association with the Shamsher Foundation have organised an exhibition for specially abled athletes at the Grand Stage of Sheru Classic MMKL. The second and third exhibition matches will be played between the staff teams of the University of Mumbai while the fourth and final exhibition match will be played between Kabaddi athletes who have retired. The finals will take place at the Sports Complex, Mumbai University Kalina Campus on 28th August 2022 from 3 pm onwards. The action will be broadcasted LIVE on the SportVot app.
