(Athletics news) Olympics 2020 live update:The sprinter from Jajpur Dutee Chand failed to qualify for the semifinals of the women's 100m as she finished a low 7th in her heat with a time of 11.54. Double Olympic gold medalist Shelly Ann Fraser Pyrce came first with a time of 10.84 and put down a marker for the rest of the field.

The Jamicans as usual looked firm favourites to take the coveted 100m title this year as the top 2 fastest time in the heat belonged to Elaine Thompson and Shelly Ann Fraser Pryce. The final of women's 100m takes place tomorrow at 6.20pm.
