(Football news) According to several rumours, Al-Ittihad is considering inviting the Egypt international to Saudi Arabia this summer.
In an effort to “replace Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema as the face of the Saudi Pro League,” it is asserted that Al-Ittihad has given Salah a “David Beckham-like offer.”
There have even been rumours that Salah has consented to a transfer and that the clubs now simply need to negotiate a deal. Salah won’t be leaving Liverpool, and the only way a transfer would take place is if the former Chelsea attacker pushed one.
And Klopp affirms that Salah is still “100%” committed to Liverpool and that the Premier League club does not want to move him this summer.
In a pre-game press conference on Friday, Klopp stated that no offers have been made for Salah. Speaking about news stories is challenging because there isn’t anything from our perspective to say. Mo Salah plays for Liverpool. Nothing is present. If something existed, the response would be “no” (he is not for sale).
On the huge money on offer in the Saudi Pro League, Klopp added: “It’s not cool for us, that’s clear. If we want a player from Wigan, say, we go there and we pay the price. Same in Bundesliga etc. Now there’s a next level and it’s not great but this is part of the business. Not sure you can change that.
“What makes it impossible to deal with is our transfer window closes and they stay open. Then we play until Jan 1 and this is our squad, we have that problem. I remember something like this in Russia long time ago. That was not completely crazy money.
“It’s new and challenging. I am pretty sure FIFA could [change their deadline] like this (clicks finger) but I am not sure they want to.”
