Mbappé Commits to France, Focuses on Club

Kylian Mbappé is slowly rediscovering his shape and enthusiasm for playing football after a few trying weeks, which will help him make a confident comeback to the French national team.

Fans have been critical of Mbappé since he joined Real Madrid last summer because his early performances have fallen short of their expectations. To make matters worse, his focus on his club obligations and reluctance to play for his country have caused him to have a tense relationship with certain French supporters and observers. Still dedicated to his goals with the national team, the former PSG forward appears to have regained his footing and is keen to aim for glory in 2025.

Mbappé recently responded to questions about his future with Les Bleus in remarks made at a news conference with Real Madrid: “I can’t wait to rejoin with the squad, and there’s nothing happening with the national team. We should make it to the Nations League final, in my opinion. I still have a deep affection for the national team. I’ve stopped worrying too much and am just playing.

As a reminder, in March, the French team will play Croatia in a Nations League quarterfinal. To move on to the next round, Didier Deschamps’ team will need all of their important players. Additionally, the national team is looking for consistency in their preparations for the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in Mexico, Canada, and the United States. This crucial stage precedes the two-time world champions’ possible head coach move.
