(Football news) The 30-year-old Brozovic joined Inter in 2015 and assisted them in winning the Italian Cup thrice and the Serie A in 2020–21.
He was also a member of the Inter team that fell to Manchester City in the Champions League final the previous year. Since Cristiano Ronaldo went to Al-Nassr in January of last year, the Saudi Pro league has gained popularity with players from Europe.
Karim Benzema, the Ballon d’Or winner, and N’Golo Kante, a former Chelsea player, were both acquired by league champions Al-Ittihad last month. The league champions Al-Ittihad, Al-Ahli, Al-Nassr, and Al-Hilal are a part of the sports clubs investment and privatisation project that the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) unveiled last month.
Croatian midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, who previously played for Inter Milan, has signed a three-year deal with Saudi Arabia’s Al-Nassr, the Saudi Pro League team revealed on Monday. Although the financial information was kept private, Italian media reported that the transfer cost was 18 million euros ($19.63 million).
“Everyone wanted him. He wanted ONLY us. #BrozovićIsYellow,” Al-Nassr wrote on Twitter.
“Don’t worry I’m here. I choose AL-Nassr,” the Croatia international said.
The 2020–21 Inter team won the Serie A championship thanks in large part to the Croatian. Then, during his two final seasons with the team, he was instrumental in both of the Nerazzurri’s Coppa Italia victories.
The experiences and memories that Brozovic enjoyed with the Inter fans were more significant than these awards, though. Due to his hard-running style of play and devotion to the jersey, the Croatian international became a fan favourite. And he believes that the sensation is shared by both parties.
