(Football news) Throughout the summer, transfer rumors have focused on the 24-year-old winger, who was sent on loan to Borussia Dortmund the previous season following a public spat with Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag.
Even after making a comeback to Old Trafford and buried the hatchet with Ten Hag, Sancho is still being linked to a long-term departure from Manchester United during this transfer window.
He participated for 45 minutes in the first team’s 2-1 loss to Arsenal on Sunday while they were in the United States for their preseason tour.
Sancho played in the friendly against Rangers the previous weekend as well. He is expected to participate in the following games against Liverpool on Sunday and Real Betis on Thursday.
PSG eyeing summer move for Jadon Sancho
Despite being involved in Manchester United’s pre-season preparations, Ligue 1 champions PSG have reached an agreement in principle to sign Sancho this summer.
The report adds that Les Parisiens are actively searching the market for attacking reinforcements following the departure of Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid at the end of last season.
It is understood that Manchester United would be open to considering parting ways with the England international for a transfer fee of around £50m.
The Red Devils shelled out £73m to sign the 24-year-old from Borussia Dortmund at the start of the 2021-22 Premier League season.
While Sancho is on the radar of the French giants, he is reportedly not at the top of their transfer wishlist, with the outlet claiming that Luis Enrique’s side are also exploring other options.
Another player that is being scouted by Les Parisiens is Rennes winger and Bayern Munich target Desire Doue, who PSG are believed to have submitted a £50m bid for recently.
Additionally, Athletic Bilbao’s 22-year-old starlet Nico Williams is also of interest to the French league champions.
Sancho to depart this summer despite having a future at Old Trafford?
Sancho was excluded from the first team at Old Trafford after a dispute with Ten Hag regarding his training commitment last September.
He returned to Dortmund on loan in January, where he delivered several impressive performances and helped the German side reach the Champions League final at Wembley.
BVB were eager for Sancho to stay at Signal Iduna Park beyond his loan period but were unable to meet United’s asking price, leading to the 24-year-old’s return to Old Trafford.
Most expected that the England international’s future lay away from Manchester, but earlier this month Ten Hag indicated that he might still have a future at Old Trafford, despite their past difficulties working together.
“As we said, we draw the line. Manchester United need good players and Jadon is a good player. We have drawn that line and we move on,” the United boss told reporters.
Sancho has made 82 appearances for Manchester United, scoring 12 goals and six assists in all competitions. His current deal with the Red Devils runs until the summer of 2026.
