(Football news) Manchester United’s sale process has now entered a third round of bidding with Raine Group asking bidders to submit their final offers by the end of April. As things stand there are seven interested parties, majority of whom are keen to buy a minority stake at the club while Sheikh Jassim and Sir Jim Ratcliffe hoping to buy out the Glazers who are expecting at least £6bn. Qatari royal Sheikh Jassim is believed to be willing to overpay for the club closest to the expected valuation.

Representatives of both Sheikh Jassim and Sir Jim Ratcliffe asked for an extension during the previous round of bidding and the Qatari’s had submitted a highly competitive but rational offer to takeover the club. Elliott Management have also made an offer to buy a minority stake at the club and are offering finance to other parties who are keen to invest in Manchester United.

Former Manchester United player Gary Neville has described the Glazers as “classless” for entering a third round of bidding by saying “Taking it to a third round is just classless. The market has obviously not given them the answer they want! It’s like they’ve made a pact to each other that they won’t go for less than £1bn each family member. If they stay in after all this it will be toxic!”
